Playing the game of golf can be a lifelong endeavour. Even at the highest level of Professional golf, players that make a living playing this game are seeking the advice and guidance of swing, mental and physical coaches. Here, I'll share the experiences that hel me to grow as a golfer and a coach.

My game has not been up to my usual standards this spring.  Like everyone else, the weather has curbed my enthusiasm to practice and play.

Leading up to the Canadian PGA, I have noticed that my mental focus is returning. Little errors with contacting the ball or directional misses are easily fixable now that I'm thinking clearer.

Getting more repetitions on the course has also been helpful.  I'm not worrying about score in my 9-hole rounds, prefering to focus my attention on the challenge of hitting different shots from awkward and unusual lies.

The crew at Marine Drive decided to close the course to all play on Monday 4th, due to the overnight heavy rain fall.  Understandable, but still disappointing that our first event had to be cancelled.  Now focusing on Friday 8th @ Sandpiper for my first V.G.T. event.

Sunday March 13th

I have decided not to play in the Vancouver Golf Tour's inaugural event at Morgan Creek tomorrow.  I'm not ready physically or mentally to play any type of competitive golf.

My time since returning from Houston on February 12th, has been devoted to updating my web site and getting my schedule organized for the teaching and playing season.

Some students are taking advantage of the new on-line booking program and booking their own lesson times.

Last week was surprisingly busy on the teaching front, I think mostly due to some warmer temperatures.

Getting back to a regular gym routine feels better all around.  Heading to the range tonight in preparation for April 4th @ Marine Drive and 8th @ Sandpiper.

January 14th

I had originally planned on taking Karen to Las Vegas for our fourteenth wedding anniversary, but she started a new job that didn’t permit her to be away from work.

I found an amazing deal on a flight to Houston and decide to play the last three events on the Adams Winter Tour in Houston.

It has definitely motivated me to get back to the gym and prepare to play some high caliber tournament golf.

I’m feeling strong without any issues from my back. Jenny (www.grillsgolffitness.com) showed me some new core stability exercises and it has made a big difference in how often and how long I can practice.

The swing changes that I have been implementing are starting to feel more comfortable. I am definitely seeing positive changes with ball flight. Trajectory is increasing with all clubs and the consistency at impact is also feeling better.

Putting indoors using the Pelz Putting clips. Wish the weather would improve so that I could spend more time working on chipping...
